Solder Assembly Technician

Seeking a hands-on experienced component assembly solder technician. This position requires someone with high energy, attention to detail, and effective communication skills, with a willingness to jump in where needed.

Pay $18.00 – $24.00 per hour*

Days and Hours

Hours during our work/life balance testing are Monday through Thursday, 6 am until 3:20 pm and occasional Fridays, 6 am until 10 am, as needed. This is working 36 hours with 40 hours pay*.

*Training must be completed. You will work a 40-hour week until fully trained.

High Overview of Position Responsibilities

  • Good attendance including punctuality.
  • Review and understand company’s requirements and specifications.
  • Work per Rieker’s quality management system.
  • Process, fabricate units per work orders/schematic in a timely manner according to production schedule needs/and individual productivity goals.
  • Inspect your own work during the process to identify any problems or reworks.
  • Maintain component records and/or logs.
  • Notify supervisor of any documentation needs such as drawing revisions.
  • Keep your department and work area clean and organized as well as tools/fixtures in good condition.

  • Soldering SMT, ISO, or Mil-STD, IPC, and Quality Control a plus!

While we love experienced solder techs we have also had great unexperienced solders thrive in our environment as our in-house IPC trainer can train you! People that are used to dealing with small items or with good hand-eye coordination tend to do well in this environment. Nail technicians, need point crafters, etc.

Embedded Software/Hardware Electronic Design Engineer for Rieker Instrument Company, Inc. (dba Rieker Inc.) to work at our Aston, PA HQ loc. Play key leadership & technical role in the design, development, & scalable production of next-gen electronic tilt sensors for high-volume industrial, autonomous systems, & defense applications. Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to production while driving innovation in embedded systems, hardware design, & system integration. Lead multidisciplinary project planning, scheduling, & execution w/ focus on efficiency, scalability, & innovation. Design advanced mixed-signal schematics & modular hardware architectures using analog, digital, & RF components, w/ emphasis on low power & high-reliability systems. Develop & maintain embedded software using C, C++ for 32-bit microcontrollers; support over-the-air updates & secure bootloaders. Architect & oversee development of next-gen PCB layouts, focusing on miniaturization, EMI compliance, & manufacturability. Direct maintenance, redesign, & lifecycle mgmt of legacy systems w/ focus on cost reduction & performance optimization. Establish automated test frameworks w/ cloud-connected diagnostics. Be technical mentor/leader to growing team of engineers & technicians; conduct code & design reviews. Drive development & maintenance of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) using LabView, Python, & custom scripts, integrating w/ ERP systems. Lead root cause analysis & detailed failure investigations, producing data-driven failure & risk reports. Ensure regulatory compliance w/ updated EMC, UL, FCC, CE, & cybersecurity standards. Interface w/ R&D, manufacturing, & external suppliers to ensure seamless design-to-production transition. Collaborate w/ Product Mgmt & Sales to eval customer needs, offer technical guidance, & present solutions. May require onsite interview with technical panel. On call outside normal work shift as needed. May undergo background checks incl reference checks. Little national and international travel to other countries for vendor/customer visits, including but not limited to India, China, and Vietnam; travel up to 60 days per year.

Must have Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; 5 years of relevant experience in embedded systems development; and required skills (5 yrs exp). Alternatively, must have Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; 2 years of relevant experience in embedded systems development; and required skills (2 yrs exp). Required skills: C; C++; one of the following: Rust, Python, or embedded Linux; communication protocols (including USB, CAN FD, SPI, I2C, RS-485, Ethernet incl TCP/IP stack); LabView, automated test scripting, and data analysis tools; Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT); electronics schematic and PCB design and corresponding EMC design.
