Tilt Switches for Industrial and Off-Road Safety
Rieker tilt switch sensors are utilized to provide a visual or audible alert to warn operators of unsafe slopes or rollover risks. These industrial tilt switches can also be configured to automatically disable or shut off equipment when a dangerous angle is detected—ideal for off-road construction, agricultural, and industrial machinery.
Engineered for precision and durability, Rieker tilt switches enhance safety in any application where tilt or slope monitoring is critical.
Rieker Tilt Switch Sensor for Every Application
Rieker offers a range of tilt switch solutions to meet varying needs:
- SlopeAlert: An economical solution designed for simple tip-over warnings or basic “on/off” functionality.
- RDI Series Digital Inclinometers: A versatile, semi-custom series offering constant feedback and a visual readout of slope angle for advanced monitoring and control.
Rieker tilt switch sensor is built tough for off-road use, engineered to withstand extreme weather, vibration, and impact, while maintaining reliable alert characteristics that are easy to identify.
How Tilt Switches Work
A tilt switch (also known as a slope indicator or inclinometer) generates an artificial horizon and measures angular tilt (or slope) with respect to this horizon. The tilt angle range is the range of desired linear output measured in degrees.
Common electrical outputs for Rieker tilt switches include:
- Analog frequency or pulse width modulated (PWM)
- Analog voltage output
- Digital (RS232) serial output
- Switched or alarm output
Other performance parameters include operating temperature range, shock resistance, vibration tolerance, and environmental protection.
